FlixFox on Your Side – How to Stream Safely with FlixFox

It’s not available on the Google Play due to its content policy. That means you’ll need to sideload it by getting the official APK file and loading it yourself.

But do not worry, as long as you download from the original source, it is safe. We are going to take you around in this guide and show you how to install FlixFox APK on a few different devices (Android phone, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Android/Google TV) as we step through.

Follow these steps exactly as they are laid out to install FlixFox APK app on your device the right way to avoid common problems. You’ll be watching all the latest movies and shows in no time!

Note: Since FlixFox doesn’t exist on the Play Store, you’ll need to enable a setting called Unknown Sources on your device.

Configuring “Install from unknown sources”

To do this, head into your device’s settings and tap the Security section. Though you may have to first go to Security or Applications on some devices, and then skip to the next step.

From there, check the box next to Unknown sources to allow installation of apps from places other than the Play Store. Confirm any warning prompt. This enables you to use 3rd party applications in all contexts of the system.

Key Tip: You might want to disable Unknown Sources after, if you want. But anything that’s commonly in use, such as your browser, is usually safe. Now that your Android device is all set up, we can install the FlixFox app.

Install FlixFox APK on Android Devices

How to install FlixFox to your Android phone or tablet is also pretty simple after allowing Unknown Sources:

Get the FlixFox APK: Download FlixFox APK on your Android device’s web browser and download the newest FlixFox APK.

Find the APK file: Get the downloaded APK in the local files or the browser’s Download folder. You will find the file (FlixFox_v2.0.7. apk). If you can’t find it, then use a file manager and look in the Downloads folder.

Click on the APK to install: Open the FlixFox APK file you downloaded. You could receive a warning message (in case you haven’t enabled Unknown sources yet). If yes, then grant the install permission as above. After that, go back and tap on the APK once more.

Check the install: Android installer screen will pop up and ask you if you wish to install FlixFox’s APK app. Click on Install and now just wait for the installation to be done :). It takes just a few seconds to wait, and the app is installed.

Run FlixFox: Once FlixFox has finished downloading, click “OPEN” to start using your streaming movie app. FlixFox gets on your device’s app drawer or home launcher.

All done! FlixFox is already on your device. Enable it and start watching!

How to Install FlixFox APK App on Firestick/Amazon Fire TV

FlixFox on a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV device does not take much additional steps due to the fact that these devices run Amazon Fire OS (a different version of Android). Use either the Downloader app (if your Fire TV is online) or try a manual route (a USB drive or the cloud) if the device lacks access to the internet.

Ready your Fire TV: To do this, you will need to allow installation from unknown sources on your Fire device:

From the Fire TV home screen, select Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options.

If you don’t see Developer Options in the menu (the latest version of Fire OS hides it by default), then on the About page, highlight the Fire TV Stick’s name and press the select button 7 times. You’ll read “You are now a developer” on your screen. Now return and you will find the Developer Options appear.

Turn ON Apps from Unknown Sources under Developer Options. (On newer Fire OS, it may be Install unknown apps. Pick Downloader or whatever app you’ll be using, and toggle it ON.)

Now, you are all set to install FlixFox on Fire TV Stick.

Method 1: Via the downloader app

Install Downloader: From the home screen, select Search in the top-right corner and enter “Downloader”/select the Downloader icon that appears in the search results. Click the Downloader app in the results >Download (it has an orange app icon). After you’re logged in, launch the Downloader app.

Input FlixFox URL: When the URL field appears on the Downloader Home page – add the following URL. Select the field you want, then add the URL FlixFFox APK download. Then click Go.

Just select the button, and Downloader does the all > connect and download the file. When the download finishes, you should have a progress bar and a prompt.

Install FlixFox: After you download, Downloader will automatically ask if you want to install the APK. If this is the first time you are installing an app using the Downloader app, you might see the Fire OS install pop-up asking for confirmation. Click the ‘Allow’ button to allow Downloader to install apps.

The regular Fire TV app installer will now open. Select Install, wait a few seconds, and FlixFox will install on your Fire TV Stick. Once you see the “App installed” message, you can choose “Done” to return to Downloader and delete the APK file, if you’re prompted, or “Open” to run FlixFox.

That’s it!

Method 2: Via USB Drive (Offline Sideload)

You don’t need an internet connection to sideload FlixFox on your Fire TV or Android TV—just use a USB flash drive.

Get the latest FlixFox APK file on your computer and move it to a USB drive. Plug the USB drive into your Android TV or Fire TV. Pick a file manager > find USB drive. Choose APK > Install. Do whatever you see on the screen.

How to Install FlixFox on Google TV/ Android Smart TV

FlixFox can be sideloaded on many smart TVs (Sony, TCL, etc.) that run Android TV or Google TV. It’s just like Fire TV Stick, however, with a couple of variations in the interface. Here’s how you install FlixFox APK on an Android/Google TV:

Step 1: Move the APK to your TV. First of all, you need to have the FlixFox APK on your smart TV. You have a few options:

Direct Download on TV: If you can get a web browser on your Android TV – you’ll be able to download the APK directly on your TV. The file will be saved to your TV’s Downloads folder.

USB: Similarly, use a USB flash drive or file transfer app to move the APK from your computer or phone to the Television.

Allow Unknown Sources on TV

For Android TV/ Google TV, you need to enable install from unknown sources, the same as you do on smartphones:

Go to Settings on your TV. Find and tap on Apps (or Apps & notifications > Special app access on Google TV running newer software) > Security & Restrictions > Unknown Sources.

Step 3: Start install

Decide location for the file. Choose the file to open. You’ll be prompted through the installation process. Select Install on the app installer screen. FlixFox will then appear on the television in under a minute.

Step 4: Open FlixFox App on your TV

Now the installation will complete. Click Open and you’re taken to FlixFox right away or return to the home screen. Installed apps may be found on Android TV devices in the Apps list under Settings > Apps or in the Apps row.

FlixFox APK Update (Without Losing Your Downloads)

You’ll want to upgrade to the latest version of FlixFox when a new version is released, in order to get the latest new things and fixes.

Note: If you wish to keep your downloaded movies/shows and settings, do not uninstall the old FlixFox before installing this new version!

The following are the ways to update the FlixFox APK on your Android device:

In-App Update: From time to time, FlixFox will alert you right in the app when an update (e.g., v2. 0. 4) is available. If so, just click the Update button in the prompt, and the app will download the new version and install it on its own. This preserves all your data.

Manual APK Update: If the in-app update doesn’t take, or you simply downloaded the new APK manually, you can still install the FlixFox APK without having to uninstall the current version. New APK will open on Android, and all you need to do is update OK it, and the update will install.

If using Fire TV or Android TV, you may have to do the same with the new APK (via Downloader or USB, etc.) and install it. It will ask if you want to update the existing application. Proceed with the update.
